GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Integrative and Interdisciplinary Approach

Safeguarding the privacy of our clients as well as designing, monitoring and maintaining an authentic reputation, usually requires an interdisciplinary approach.

The Virtual Bodyguard ensures that all necessary competencies are working together in project teams on the task at hand. The design and implementation of a winning communication concept is regularly at the center of our activities. Quite frequently, additional competencies from the fields of law and IT security are required and - in acute cases - psychological counseling..

Fairness

We only promise results which we believe we can actually deliver. Each commitment of the Virtual Bodyguard begins with the analysis of the task at hand and an agreement with the client about the desired outcome of our engagement. Depending on the client's specific situation the objective can be the alleviation of an impairment of privacy and reputation, or even a complete elimination of the problem.

The Internet does not forget, they say. We have a more differentiated view on this. Some unfair or even incorrect impairments of one's privacy or reputation can actually be eliminated for good. Others can only be pushed into a remote corner of the Internet, where they are not so easily found. In any case, we will address our client's problems with a very high level of persistence, creativity and efficiency in order to achieve the best possible result.

Truthfulness

We do not create distorted images of reality, even if clients would ask us to do so. We could not justify such actions to ourselves and we anyway do not believe that such attempts are sustainable in the digital world. We neither support the dissemination of misleading information nor that of half-truths. Also, our services are not available for any attempts to censor the Internet.

Our goal is to create an authentic and balanced digital representation of our clients or of an institution or firm which they are responsible for. This representation shall make sure that the outside perception does not only focus on isolated aspects or features. We assist our clients in their effort to keep their privacy untouched. This is to the best and most sustainable benefit we can offer to them.

Confidentiality and Professionalism

The Virtual Bodyguard operates strictly confidential. The existence of client relationships are protected from the eyes of any third party as much as the clients' concerns or the nature and scope of our services offered to them.

At the same time, all activities we undertake, the resources we need and the results we achieve are being reported to our clients in great detail. Our clients have full transparency about our efforts and are in the driver's seat at all times. All important steps are being agreed upon before we take them.

Highest Ethical Standards

In principle, the Virtual Bodyguard wants to help everyone who seeks help regarding the protecting of their reputation and privacy. Under certain circumstances, however, this is not possible. We refuse to do anything which compromises our understanding of fairness, good faith, morals, and decency. We highlight these principles with particular emphasis because not everything which is possible in the digital world is already well-recognized and regulated by legislative bodies. We therefore have to frequently use our best own judgment. The adoption of a mandate must therefore always be aligned with our guiding principles and ethical standards.
